In designing any high-end component, you can’t sweat the details enough. The Vena Cava’s been in development for some time; it’s definitely got all the goods.

Separate pure silver and pure copper solid core conductors; check. Each strand individually wrapped in a Teflon dielectric; check. Lead-free high silver-content solder; check. Everything wrapped up into a beautiful noise-cancelling Litz braid and terminated with hospital-grade AC plugs; definitely check.

But, when it comes to making a power cord, what you really want to get right is the amount of conductor. Get that wrong and the finest conductor/dielectric mix in the world won’t allow your amp to suck up the juice it needs during instantaneous high-current bursts and provide you with the dynamic swings your amp was designed to belt out. Well, we definitely got that right. While a number of manufacturer’s sell 12 gauge power cords (typically marketed for digital or preamp use) we use that much conductor just for the positive pin. And then we add another 12 gauge of wire for the negative, and yet another 12 gauge for ground. This cable is nearly 7 gauge total!

Now, we’re not saying the Vena Cava is the only 7 gauge cable in town. But, when you find those other cables, take a look at the parts list and the design… then look at the price. Yeah, we are the only ones offering a cable of this magnitude at a price like this. We are proud of this cable!

• TWO strands of 99.9% pure silver and TWO strands of 99.99% pure copper wire for each positive and negative legs.
